Our Client, a well-known Holding Company is currently looking to hire a Senior Legal Counsel to be based in Abu Dhabi.

The Role
  • Creating, implementing and managing an appropriate governance structure; effective but not unwieldy.
  • Oversight of all contracts including, but not limited to HR, Commercial, Supplier, Infrastructure, Insurance, Finance & Investment.
  • Supporting HR in implementing appropriate performance management and grievance processes.
  • Address any legal, regulatory and risk concern and the potential impact on the business.
  • Participate in the development and periodic amendment of the organization's policies and procedures
  • Represent the Company on all legal and external affairs matters including litigation, investigations, compliance, agreements and contract matters.
  • Work closely with Chief Commercial Officer to review and oversee negotiation and drafting of partnership agreements
  • Work closely with the Chief Financial Officer and Executive Investment Director to review and advise on transactions structuring
  • Work closely with the Chief Financial Officer to address or develop risk financing techniques
Candidate Requirements
  • Experience in senior legal, risk and compliance role, reporting to C-level executives and advising Board members on key legal matters
  • Experience in commercial contracts.
  • Experience in employment law, corporate law and contractual disputes
  • Significant prior experience as a practicing lawyer (preferably both with a prominent law firm as well as in-house)
  • Corporate finance/ banking legal experience an advantage
  • Regional experience an advantage
  • Bachelor's degree or postgraduate degree in Law
  • Professional qualification as a solicitor or equivalent in a civil or common law jurisdiction
